Sports Match Time Converter FAQ
What does this tool do?
It converts a sports match’s local kickoff time at the event city into your timezone. Pick the city where the game is played, enter the local start time from the official schedule, and the converter shows when to watch where you are.
What is local kickoff time?
Local kickoff time is the clock time at the venue city when the match starts. FIFA, leagues, and ticket sites usually list this time. It is not the same as a national TV broadcast slot (for example, U.S. listings that say “8/7c” Eastern/Central).
Football and World Cup example
If a World Cup group match kicks off at 9:00 PM local time in Doha, choose Doha as the event city, enter 9:00 PM on the match date, and your location is filled automatically. The result shows when that kickoff lands in your timezone, including if the date rolls to the next or previous day.
Basketball example
An NBA game listed at 7:30 PM in Los Angeles uses Pacific Time at the arena. Select Los Angeles, enter 7:30 PM on the game date, and read your local watch time. If you only know a national TV time in Eastern, use the Time Zone Converter or pick the broadcast zone as the event city instead.
Rugby and American football example
A rugby test in London at 3:00 PM or an NFL game in Chicago at 12:00 PM both use the stadium city’s local clock. Enter that city and kickoff time here. For U.S. TV windows quoted in Eastern only, convert from Eastern or use the listed network timezone rather than the stadium if that is what you know.
Stadium time vs TV broadcast time
This page is built for official local kickoff at the venue. Broadcasters sometimes publish a different “TV time” for their audience. When in doubt, trust the schedule tied to the host city, or use the Time Zone Converter for a specific broadcast zone.
Does this handle daylight saving time?
Yes. Each city uses its IANA time zone rules for the date you enter, including daylight saving changes where they apply.
How do share links work?
After you enter a valid kickoff, Copy link builds a URL like ?city=doha&at=2026-06-15T21:00. Optional &viewer=America/New_York is added only if you changed Your location from the auto-detected timezone. Anyone opening the link sees the same conversion. Match details live in the URL; we do not save them on our servers.
How is this different from the Time Zone Converter?
The Time Zone Converter compares several cities at once for any date and time. This page is focused on one sports scenario: local kickoff at the venue → your watch time, with sharing for a single match.
